Harbor Point II_Web VersionMany designers are interested in introducing living wall and green façade technologies into their built forms but may not understand the implications their design decisions have on budget and long-term maintenance. As a result, most concepts become unrealistic and too expensive to implement. This presentation will introduce designers to currently available green wall technologies, and help them understand what opportunities and limitations exist in order to avoid costly pitfalls. This presentation will focus specifically on green wall technologies and installation methods for both interior and exterior applications. Specific objectives for the course will introduce attendees to the various types of green wall products available to designers and discuss the benefits and applications of each type.

Green wall typologies covered in the presentation will include green facades (wall mounted cable assemblies as well as pre-fabricated wire screen panels) and living walls (hydroponic as well as media based systems for both interior and exterior applications).
